I used Bernat Sox yarn and 3.25 dpn needles.

Now my toes will be nice and warm and cozy. I'll need that for Friday as a snow storm is predicted to be moving into our area with about 10 cm. of snow. Guess that means it will be time to shovel the paths and driveway again. But I can count on my cozy toes the number of times we have had to do that this winter, and I'll only have to use one foot. We have had hardly any snow this year and what has fallen has been quickly melted away by the sun.
Did you watch Downton Abbey? What a great series. Season 2 has just finished and we can hardly wait for season 3. Maybe I'll knit another pair of socks then. But for now my sock knitting adventure is over. I've mastered the dpns which was really the reason I started knitting them.

I could use a pair of those socks for tomorrow as well! They look so cozy.
ReplyDeleteI had watched some of the first season of Downton Abbey and missed the start of the second. However, as it started with the first season last night on the Vision channel, I'm going to get in the groove!

They look very warm! Although I know how to knit and crochet, I have no patience and usually end up with a basket full of unfinished projects! :(
ReplyDeleteThe last time I completed a project was 15 yrs. ago when I crocheted a blanket for my first grandchild!
Your needlework ...is lovely. Socks have never been a fave of mine to make. Tried argyle socks mooooooons ago.
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with Downtown Abbey, so I can't comment on that.
Have a great day. (((hugs)))Pat
I see you watch Downton Abbey too. We could have a fan club here. Your socks look cozy and warm. V
ReplyDeleteIt has been a great series hasn't it V.
DeleteYour socks look so warm!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm hooked on Downton Abbey too.
How will I ever be able to wait a whole
year to find out whether Matthew&Mary ever
marry? Or whether Mr. Bates gets out prison
or not? Oh well, life must go on!
We get so wrapped in the lives of the personalities on the show don't we? It will be a long wait.
DeleteYour socks looks so cosy Linda ,wish I could make socks .
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed Downton Abbey to now we are getting Upstairs downstairs again and Call the Midwife.
I hope Upstairs Downstairs is reshown here. I haven't heard of Call the midwife (except of talk about it at your forum) so hopefully it will come here in the future as it sounds very interesting.
DeleteYour socks turned out great!! I'm glad I'm not the only who takes a couple of months to make a pair of socks; for me this is usually because my socks are my 'on the go' project - small enough to take with me when I am waiting at appointments, etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Jeanette. I couldn't figure out how to get to your blog from the new Google+ profile.
DeleteI love those socks. Several friends knit them too. I don't have satelite or cable so don't get Downton Abbey. Maybe I'll look for it on DVD. I hear it's really good. There is 10 - 15 cm. of snow coming here on Friday night and Sat. morning. Oh well. It's still winter. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the socks, Linda. As for the weather - we haven't had much of the predicted storm yet here in Tillsonburg. But they say another 10-15 cm is on it's way today. As for Downton Abbey - LOVE IT!! Haven't seen most of the 2nd season but will catch up with it on Vision TV now that they are showing it.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and don't shovel too much.
We aren't getting the amounts of snow predicted. If it was a lot we have a snow blower to do the work for us.
DeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteStay warm, and looks like your spiffy new socks will help. My Dad only wore dress socks that my Mother knit for him and he loved red, yellow, blue ones.
Judith
The snow missed us here, we're just getting a light drizzle. Cute socks. I've never seen that yarn before, so I'll have to have a look for it. You can never have too much sock yarn, can you?
ReplyDeleteSaw your finished hat and new square. They turned out lovely. Sorry I couldn't leave a comment but it takes too long with the captcha verification.
DeleteSuper cute socks! And stay warm and outta that snow :)
ReplyDeleteYour finished sweater is gorgeous Sarah. Sorry I couldn't leave a comment but it takes too long with the captcha verification.
DeleteI have sock envy! Those look so yummy and cosy!
ReplyDeleteI hope these (beautiful! wonderfully knit and lovely yarn) socks do keep you cozy during the snowstorm. I haven't seen Downton Abbey yet, but I've heard so many good things, I can't wait to have the time to sit down with it and sip tea and crochet. :D
ReplyDeleteSocks looks awesome and warm. Glad your snow melted quickly. I'm thinking spring...spring...spring.
