It was a gorgeous sunny day perfect for capturing reflection photos in the water. This long jetty or pier extended right out into the water. It was low tide when we were there and I was able to get the whole reflection of the pier in the water.

A close up of the end of the pier really shows the angle of the down ramp to where the boats were moored. The water also captured the reflections of the boats, the poles, and the trees. This pier was at the beginning of our walk along Whiffen Spit, about 30 minutes in each direction.. We were lucky to see the black oystercatcher, many ducks and a seal on our walk. No whales that day. I'm sure to be posting more of the photos we took soon. If you are interested in finding out more about Whiffen Spit, be sure to check out this site.
I'm sharing with Weekend Reflections

Another nice memory for you of your trip - Sooke is one of my favorite places out there.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
So beautiful Linda. Great captures on the reflections. I wish I could put paint to paper and paint it. I've thinking of getting back into painting.
ReplyDeleteYour photos made me realize how different the 'scenery' is out here - and how I recognize, from your usual Ontario shots, how familiar they are as well! And I wonder if, by chance, we passed each other on the street while you were out here. I imagine you had a lovely visit.
ReplyDeletebeautiful! love the tall pines in that first shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful day. There is something mesmerizing about photos that capture reflections.
ReplyDeleteFantastic reflections. Love all your photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute name! Whiffen Spit! I wonder how the name came about. What a long pier! I've never seen one so long.
