W4W Reflections

It's time for Word for Wednesday or W4W.  The word for this week is reflection.  This word can have different meanings but I chose to share today some photos that I've taken.  Nothing philosophical, just some reflection photos.

The first is the reflection of the buses as they go over the bridge on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa.

The mallard ducks down by the bay are a favourite feathered lens friend to photograph, and when a reflection is captured it is a bonus.

The gorgeous swan, also taken down by the bay.

Some colourful cosmos reflected in the mirror.

A wonderful tree reflection in the waters of the bay.

Trees reflecting in the Moira River.

The reflections of two common mergansers in the waters at Whiffen Spit.

The reflection of the heron in the water at the Esquimalt Lagoon.

Stop by Word for Wednesday to see how other bloggers have interpreted the word reflection.

  4. Linda, thank you for joining in with all your water and bird images. Oh, and the pretty reflected flowers too. I have never seen a wild swan around here, that is a great capture. I have a client who has white and black swans in a lake on his property, but I never took their photos. Sometime I should, but I am so impressed that you got a wild one. So much more interesting and your image is wonderful.

    1. The swans are resident swans on the bay from mid spring to late fall. We love to go there to take photos of them.

  7. Beautiful images! My favorite is the tree. I love how you can almost get lost between reality and reflection, and start to see the tree as a whole.

  11. Hi Linda, it looks like swans are roaming the temperate climes this time, as i've seen many posts of swans already, and ducks for the others. Swans are really elegant and lovely to photograph, but we dont have them here. I love that bridge with busses on the water!
