The day we left was a gorgeous sunny day with calm water. We crossed from Victoria to Vancouver on the Coastal Renaissance ferry. The scenery was amazing. Just the day before some of the ferry crossings has been cancelled due to high winds. Rather like the winds we've had for the past couple of days.

We were able to spend a lot of time on the deck taking in the scenery. Who wouldn't be fascinated by the water that bubbled and frothed up at the back of the ferry? We had our eyes peeled for whales but unfortunately didn't see any. We did see lots of gulls and and an eagle flying overhead.

The clear sky enabled us to have fantastic views of the Olympic Mountains and Mount Baker.
So I'm glad for cold, wintery days now so that I can relive our holidays experiences.
I'm sharing these views of a sunny day with Watery Wednesday.
What do you do when it is too cold to go outside?

It was cold here today too - but not that cold! I have been indoors rearranging and cleaning - winter is a great time to review and to contemplate - love your pictures. I hope you stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless,
Kathy
It's snowing here so it's nice to see these beautiful sights.
ReplyDeleteMy watery Wednesday , happy new year of the dragon.
Good WW post.

ReplyDeleteI hope seeing your photos warmed you on this cold day!
They are fabulous shots.
I spent two whole weeks in Vancouver and never saw the tops of those mountains - it was drizzly and grey both times. Glad you got to see them in their glory. It's so beautiful out there. Makes you wonder as we freeze here in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these lovely pics.
Again I ask myself, why have I not been further west than Alberta!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I like your layout, Linda. Pretty snazzy!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, and a great way to spend a cold day. I usually just pace around, knowing I need to be cleaning, but so wishing I were outside!

ReplyDeleteA walk around OSO BAY
What beautiful captures of serenity and scenics.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, my favorite is the last one.
ReplyDeleteOn cold winterdays I'm dreaming of sunny spring/summerdays.
From a cold, wet and windy Ireland...drinking coffee with Bailey's Irish Cream and enjoying your lovely pics.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! I hope to travel out your way one day! I'd like to see more of Canada (altho' NS keeps me pretty busy!). Happy New Year, karen
ReplyDeleteTo really see Mt. Baker you have to go to Canada. Down in Bellingham you only get to see the top peaking over the foothills. I always remember going to the Abbotsford Air Show and seeing that great view of Baker with the Snowbirds heading our way. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI think you made excellent use of your time! Your photos are beautiful. B.C. sounds and looks very appealing.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. Wish I was on Vancouver Island right now. We have a blizzard here.
ReplyDeleteWow. Great shots! I love the snow on the mountains in the background!
ReplyDeleteDear Linda, Your photographs are amazing. They warmed my heart on this bitter cold Pennsylvania day. P. x

What lovely views...breathtaking! We have just gotten our cold snap after some mild weather. I am hoping for some snow...
ReplyDeleteI've been on the ferry before! It passes through some lovely scenery, doesn't it! Glad you had a fun and safe trip. Thanks for stopping by at my WW.
ReplyDeleteIt rarely happens around here (I live in the Vancouver area), but when it gets unfathomably rainy, I like to read a good book in a cozy place and enjoy a cup of tea. Cooking a nice soup or stew is also good for comfort food when it's rainy.
ReplyDeleteI love this. I am lucky enough to live in Sidney on Vancouver island and I know the places you took pictures. Sidney is where I am. What is also a bit of a coincidence is, I have a store in Sidney and I carry Escents products in my store. Hi Jacqui!! Erin from Dragon Horse!!
