My Photo

My blog, like life, is a mixture of all sorts of things . . . gardening, nature, crafts and photography. Right now it's the time of year when the focus is more on the non-gardening things I love to do. But I'm always thinking and dreaming of gardening.

Temperature Rising

We have certainly had the ups and downs of weather over the past several days.  At the beginning of the week it was -15 Celsius with even colder windchills.  We've had rain, drizzle, sleet, and a bit of snow.

Overnight there was another sprinkle of snow.   This morning the sun is rising and so is the temperature.  It is predicted to reach around +5 Celsius for today and tomorrow, which will mean an end to the snow.  This view was taken from the front window.  The bottom of the photo is hay that is stacked at least 5 bales high.  If I go outside all I see is the hay and can't get the lovely photo of the fog rising off the fields.

The skies are a little foggy but the fog hanging over the fields is really a pretty site to see.  We face north so the rising sun isn't visible there yet.

But from the back deck, looking east, the sun is rising above the horizon.  It looks like it will be a lovely day.  These eye on the sky photos are being shared with Sky Watch
I hope you are having a wonderful day where you are.

  2. Our cold snap just ended as well. We are sitting at about the same temps as you. I can finally drive around in my car and not worry about bad roads....yeah!! Thinking today I might stroll around town with my camera and capture some winter shots. Diane

  3. Terrific captures for the day! And it does look SO COLD! Now I'll have to stop whining about the gray skies in Seattle! I do love the bare trees silhouetted against the skies in the last shot! Hope you have a great weekend! Stay warm!

  8. Love the banks of fog - so pretty!
After a cold venture to the northeast for New Years, I am enjoying the warmer weather here in North Carolina! The winter just isn't the same here with no snow, though.
