Looking to the east from the back deck we could see this beautiful sunrise.

Was the sky sending us a message?

Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning!

I'm sure it was. The next day was shrouded in heavy fog and pouring rain. And then we had really cold weather and snow for a day or so. It pays to keep your eye on the sky for predicting the weather.
I'm linking with Sky Watch.

what a beautiful sunrise!
ReplyDeleteLinda girl those are gorgeous pictures ! I love pink skies (even though they mean trouble ? LOL)
ReplyDeleteHey .. we had serious snow squalls here last night BUT .. we also had lightening and THUNDER ! It was totally creepy to have that all going on at the same time !
Joy : )
I heard about the thunder snow on The Weather Netowrk Joy. We didn't get it by us.
DeleteI meant to add Joy that some of the photos were taken with the zoom lens and some with the regular lens. I popped into the kitchen to switch lenses.
DeleteNice shots, Linda. It's so worth getting up to see the sun rise - I sit here every morning at my kitchen table, coffee in hand, watching the world awaken. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble with the threaded comments - can't seem to get it to work properly either. It must be a glitch in blogger.
The threaded comments work for me Heather, it is just that many visitors can't leave a comment. Do you have your feed set to Full, along with the embedded option. You have to have both for it to work.
DeleteMother Naature gives us some gorgeous stuff to feast our eyes on.
ReplyDeleteWe humans are graced with the ability to see the beauty around us.
(((hugs)))Pat
Great sky series and the old sailor's adage held true!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, colorful skies and the sailor's adage does indeed hold true!! Terrific captures for the day! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Just beautiful ! And thanks for stopping by my blog. You must have come across my blog on blotanical which says I'm in Kingston, but actually I live just outside of Trenton. I always put my location as Kingston on forums and things like that because I lived there while going to college and I love it there.
ReplyDeleteSo we are actually very close to each other.
Happy gardening !
I actually just previewed and approved your blog at Blotanical. You are probably closer to me than I originally thought. I too live in Quinte West.
DeleteThat is gorgeous sky!

It's baffling why some visitors can leave comments and some can't. Blogger doesn't seem to have any answers for this.
ReplyDeleteOur snow has been holding, but they are calling for rain today. Then come the flood warnings. Must be winter on the west coast. - Margy
ReplyDeleteHiMargy, I've been hearing all about the snow out west from family in Sooke.
DeleteVery pretty. I really do believe in those old sayings. Those sailors were smart to watch the skies!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous sunrise and colorful sky! Great photos, happy skywatching!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely show the sky put on for you :o) I'm always happy to come across other Canadian bloggers as well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! So glad you grabbed the camera...gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteDelightful.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteI'm always keep in mind the red sky in morning or night too for the weather prediction.
Great early morning shots.
Judith
