The pattern for this hat was adapted from a couple of patterns. Using 5 mm dpns I cast on 72 stitches and knitted a ribbing of K2 P2 for about 8 rounds. Then I switched to stocking stitch and because I was knitting in the round I only had to do the knit rows. When the hat was about 15 cm I started to shape the top. Knit a round of K2 K2tog, a knit round, a K1 K2tog, a knit round and a round of K2tog. Cut yarn with a longish tail and thread onto a needle. Thread through all remaining stitches as you remove them from the needles, pull tight and do a couple of stitches to secure the opening. I used the corkscrew edging from this book to finish it off.
I can never resist creating a mosaic or collage image to share with Mosaic Monday.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great Monday.

Not much going on in the gardens here too, so I'm busy knitting a hoodie for my soon to be born great-niece. There's got to be something good about being stuck inside in the winter and knitting is on the top of my list for a winter activity.
