The waves were crashing onto the beach.

Along with lots of driftwood there was a huge tree that had washed up on shore.

This is the type of weather the surfers love and there were lots of them in the ocean braving the weather to get that perfect ride.

These photos look like they were taken in black and white but they weren't. It was such and overcast day. I'll share some other photos in another post where the colour is evident.
I'm sharing these wild Pacific Ocean photos with Watery Wednesday.
Thanks for visiting. Enjoy the day.

I am calling by as another Watery Wednesday participant. Stormy scenes but atmospheric and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures of a beautiful place looking very dramatic. Did you pick up any of the driftwood to bring home to the garden? I remember bringing home a piece from Cavendish Beach on PEI a few years ago.
Terrific captures, Linda! Your skies look remarkably like ours in Seattle lately! Does look like stormy seas! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
HI Heather, no driftwood for us, the pieces were way to big to fit into our suitcases to bring back to Ontario.
ReplyDeleteHi Sylvia, I'm sure you get similar skies to Vancouver Island, Seattle is just a ferry ride away.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos of a stormy sea. Love seascapes and they are at their best when the sea is far from calm.
ReplyDeleteWhat great shots Linda. Looks a little rough out there on that day for certain. Now I would have loved to pick up a few pieces of the smaller driftwood to take home. Mainly because the tree would not fit or.... LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the ocean and listening to the waves crash on the shore. I can almost hear them in these photos. They are beautiful! Pamela
ReplyDeleteIt's very rough looking water. I wonder where does that tree came from looks like a coconut tree. Great photos you have.
ReplyDeleteRose
It's been a long time since I saw stormy weather on the ocean. Great pics. The ocean is such a mysterious and beautiful being.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wild day it must have been . Beautiful none the less
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Love the one with the tree.
ReplyDeleteOh I'd love to live beside a wild sea...beautifully 'moody' photos. xx
ReplyDeleteThis rough ocean reminds me of the hurricanes I lived through in south Florida as a child. The Atlantic can give out those big waves, too. I would think your camera became misty while shooting these. They are great shots and make the viewer really feel the storm. genie
ReplyDeleteI just discovered Watery Wednesdays and these are wonderful photos. Love the "natural" black and white and what a great day to watch the surfers!
