Thursday Thoughts on Travelling

A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.quote by Tim Cahill
We were travelling for the month of November ... out to British Columbia and back to Ontario. I've been on blogging holiday too. Even though a few posts appeared during the month they were ones I wrote and had Blogger publish throughout the month. It seemed to work out quite well.
The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.quote by St. Augustine
We travelled by car, train, bus, ferry and foot. We had amazing views of our great land and experienced all types of weather ... from sun, rain, wind, snow. We met so many amazing people from around the world. Naturally the best part was seeing our family once again and meeting our new grandson.
(snowy trees in the mountains approaching Jasper)We were lucky enough to be ahead or behind of the big storms. One wind storm cancelled the ferry schedule the day before we were to leave Vancouver Island and an ice/snow storm arrived in Northern Ontario as we passed through.
How wonderful it is to travel on vacation but it is equally as wonderful to arrive back home. I haven't tackled the mounds of laundry yet and so far we have only bought the necessary groceries. The fridge and cupboards will need stocking up. And then there are the preparation of the Christmas season.
No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.quote by Lin Yutang
I took so many photos it will be like re-living the vacation as I sort through them. Of course I'll be sharing lots and lots of them in future blog posts.
A traveller without observation is a bird without wings.quote by Moslih Eddin Saadi
I've missed visiting my favourite blogs and I've missed participating in various blog activities but with the approaching winter I'll have lots of time to catch up. I'm looking forward to connecting with my blog friends again.
December arrived on this frosty morning. But that is okay, because we don't have to go out and scrape the windows and leave for work. That is one of the advantages of being retired. The grandkids that live close by are coming for a visit this morning so we can catch up on all the things they have been doing while we were away. It's going to be a great day. Hope yours is too.
Linda Glad you are back looking forward to pictures of your travels
