I'm learning how to add video footage to my blog posts. If I had figured this out yesterday I would of added it to the post about the wild Pacific Ocean. Oh well, better late than never.
You can hear the pouring of the rain in this video, taken under the protection of my umbrella.
I've had video/movie options on my camera but don't use it to the fullest. Watch out, as now I've learned how to do this, it could become my latest obsession.
Here is how I did it.
Go to YouTube and set up an account if you don't already have one.
Click the upload button to upload a video from your computer. Of course, first you have to take the video/movie on your camera and upload it to your computer
Once uploaded, your video had to be processed on YouTube. When it is ready, click the share button that is underneath it. You get a couple of choices, choose embeded.
Copy the code and add it to your blog post, and presto there it is.
Hi Linda! I also added a youtube video to my blog recently (A Grown-up Christmas List) by Amy Grant. Not as much fun are gardening, though. Cheers! Karen www.quarteracreweedfarm.blogspot.com
Hi, Linda Being a fan of the ocean, I enjoyed your video. I added a video once but never thought to use YouTube. When creating the post, on Blogger, I just imported it from my photo files using the "Insert a video" button, beside the "Insert a photo" one. I'd put a link so you could see the result, but it would look like I was hijacking your post! :) I'll look forward to more of your videos! -Karen
Clever, clever, clever!!! Thank you for this. It used to be so easy to upload a video on blogger but then they changed their format or something. I will try going through YouTube and see what happens. Enjoyed your video very much. Have a great weekend.
I really appreciate you stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to leave a comment.
No word verification here but if the post is over a few days old your comment will have to be approved. It seems those spammers choose older posts in hopes their lurid messages will show up.
That is something I'd like to learn how to do. Is it difficult? Where do I start? Pamela

I've never tried this, but sometimes I hit 'video' on my camera by mistake! Maybe I'll now hit it on purpose! Thanks for giving us the steps.
ReplyDeleteThis is very helpful, Linda. I am new in blogging and thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLovely video. It adds something to have sound effects. Thanks for the tutorial.
