Here is my shadow trying to capture some photos of these lens friends.
We came across this sord of ducks. A sord is a group of ducks on the ground. A flock is a group of ducks in the air. I think the water was too cold for them and they were enjoying the warmth in the sun on the dock. The male mallards have gorgeous colouring.
The female has lovely markings and patterns on her feathers.
These lens friends are perfect to share with Camera Critters and Shadow Shot Sunday.
It isn't very sunny here today and it is rather chilly. The temperatures are supposed to rise to +5 Celsius which will help melt the ice rain we had overnight. Christmas is being packed away in boxes for another year so that everything will be clean, fresh and tidy for 2012. We are not revellers for New Years but enjoy a quiet, peaceful evening at home.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Linda
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy your photos of wildlife. Hope you are having a wonderful New Years Eve day and that the weather holds out. We are in the midst of fog soup but are hoping it stays clear enough for a fire outside tonight.
Oh, I do love the ducks! And what terrific captures for the day! Perfect shadow shots! Wishing you a very beautiful and Happy New Year!

I love Vancouver Island, and I love ducks. I once lived across a dirt road from a duck pond for several years and had daily ducky visits!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Linda, and all the best for 2012.

Ontario ducks are just as friendly as BC ducks Judith. They create shadows that are just as ducky!
