The sun is creating lovely shadows and I captured the wasp as it basked in the sun on the bbq.

Just look at the shadow. It's perfect to share with Shadow Shot Sunday
Did you notice I didn't say this was a lens friend? I don't consider wasps to be friends but they do make fascinating subjects to photograph.

What a terrific "up close and personal" shot of the wasp! I love it! Hope you're having a great weekend!

Nice shadow shot.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
I am not necessarily a fan of the wasp, the needle like stinger not too friendly when the insect is provoked - I'd prefer not! That said, the shapely marauder looks nice at this distance, the shadow is cool. Nice capture, although I'll keep my distance...
ReplyDeleteI know I shouldn't ask, but...did you squish the wasp after you took his/her photo, or did he/she fly merrily away? :-)
ReplyDeleteSHADOW PLAY
Shadows like horses, shadow likes chicks,
Shadows like houses built with red bricks;
Shadows much taller than a high wall—
No matter their shape, I love them all!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Linda.
ReplyDeleteAs for the wasp......did you BBQ him?
Wasps make me so nervous. I leave them alone thinking maybe they will do the same!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving my friend. Diane
I do NOT like wasps, but I sure do like your wasp's ShadowShot! It is very good. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteVery nice shadow from the wasp, they're interesting insects.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Have a great Thanksgiving. It is a time I stay on our side of the border. Traffic is a bear every year. Even walking over is a wait. Your wasp looks very happy getting his sun tan. I bet he is really baking though on that hot metal.
ReplyDeleteCool shadow! Enjoy the wonderful weather!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you

Wasps are definitely not something to fool with. If they sting, it can be dangerous. However, this one provided a perfect shadow shot for you.
ReplyDeleteWell, I wouldn't photograph a wasp, but my husband did recently. Very brave of you, and I'm glad you did, because the shadow is great.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving, bee and all!
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo! You captured all the details. Love your fall theme...gets me in the mood for autumn as our leaves are just now beginning to change. In a week or two, we should be immersed in the full fall display.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteHaven't you visited for a while.

Not all wasp sting:)
