A Cozy Blanket

I finished the round ripple blanket I was making for our new grandson.  The cozy blanket was packaged  up along with several other items and mailed out to him.  Canada Post had the best rates and delivered the package within the week.

This was a crochet round ripple blanket, of course done in blue and white.  This blanket was started on September 24 the day he was born.  His parents chose not to know the sex of the baby during the pregnancy so I couldn't begin it till he was born.  It was finished a week later.

I had to take a few photos of it before mailing it out west.  But in November I'll be able to take photos of him with his blanket as we are heading out west for the month of November.
The colours make it perfect to share with Blue Monday and of course I couldn't resist making a mosaic collection of the photos to share with Mosaic Monday

I hope you are having a marvellous Monday.

  1. You put all us knitters to shame, Linda - finishing a big blanket like that in such short time. I usually go generic when making blankets because I have to start them the day the pregnancy is announced to get them done in time. Bet you can't wait to get your hands on your new grandson - there's nothing like it. Congratulations

  2. Linda you certainly knit up a storm in a very short time , it is gorgeous and I am sure your new grandson will be toasty warm in it...
I have to say knowing the sex of a child before birth is a trend but I like the surprise makes labour worth it....

  3. Heather, I do find that crochet works up faster than knitting. When I set my mind to completing something I usually get it done in time.

  7. Loved the blanket. Most all I have seen were square. I really like the round effect. Nice job and something to be handed down.
