Wild Asters

It is the last Wednesday of the month and time for Wildflower Wednesday.
The lovely wild asters are still in bloom, but probably not for much longer.

These photos were taken in the wild patch of our backyard.  It's the area where I let most things grow to see how they turn out and what wildlife they attract.

There were several bees around the wild asters, probably gathering the last of the pollen that they could this season.

They were busy flitting from flower to flower and didn't mind me taking photos.

I'm always thrilled to capture some new lens friends.
I'm sharing with Clay and Limestone for Wildflower Wednesday.  This may be the last one for me till next spring.
Take time to enjoy the garden today.

  2. Hi Linda, are these really wild or garden escapees. If they are the former you're very lucky!

  4. Hi Linda - asters are always one of my favorite fall bloomers. When my brother got married on his horse farm, they decorated the wedding arch with asters - it was beautiful, rustic and oh so fall.

  7. Oh those asters are sooooo lovely! I would love to have some of those. Our wild asters are really tiny blossoms, but I love them nonetheless. :) Happy Fall!

  8. Hi Linda
The fields are covered with the wild asters here, they really are a pretty wildflower. I have several varieties in my gardens and the bees are busy with them too.

  9. Linda, Say it isn't so! Your last WW~NO! Share with us this winter even if you have to hang out in the archives! The bees are so busy on asters just before the first frost that they seem to be oblivious of me, too. But, here in TN we have another month of late summer. Isn't it delightful that we share many of the same wildflowers! gail
