A Macro Bloom

Just look at the macro shot of the bloom from the Let's Streak hosta.

The edges look so delicate and the streaking is very obvious.
To see more about this plant click the Let's Streak label at the end of this post.
Won't you please join in for Macro Friday.

A long weekend will be starting tomorrow. Some consider this the end of summer but there are still lots of days left - right up till September 21. This seems to be the transition into Fall with cooler mornings and over nights.  The odd bit of colour is creeping into the leaves and blooms in the garden are fading. Enjoy the long weekend and make the most of these days in the garden.

  1. Lynda, the hosta bloom is a striking colour. I hope that you will enjoy your first Labour Day Weekend of your retirement from teaching. (It is the second one for me -it still seems a bit odd not going into school in August to set up the classroom -happily odd, though).

You have retired from the school? Congratulations girl .. more time to putter and there always seems to be something that has to be done around the house .. time will actually fly by once you get into a routine.

  4. Hi Karen, I think it is finally hitting me this week that I am retired ... no heading back to school, no preparations, no schedules.

Hope you have a great weekend too Pam.

Hi Joy, my days are filled already and the time goes so fast. I'll be wondering how I did everything and worked at the same time. Enjoy the weekend.

  5. Lovely photo with wonderful color and detail. I, too, am a retired teacher, and well remember the glee I felt when all the kids returned to school...and I didn't. Enjoy!!!

  6. It looks as if you took a very thin paintbrush and added the veins and then the White edging. I never tire of looking at macro photographs.

  10. Amazing shot! I really love the color. We are noticing the cooler evenings and mornings here as well. Some of the leaves are changing. Autumn is my favorite time of year, and I am looking forward to it.
