Purple Coneflowers

The purple coneflower or echinacea have been blooming for quite awhile in the garden.  They are a sun loving plant that will grow in just about any soil condition and they don't require a lot of water.  I love them in the garden as they require very little care.
I came across this lovely display of coneflowers while walking on the Riverfront trail one day.
This clump had probably self seeded itself and was growing among the large rocks.
Who can resist taking more and more photos, especially macro ones.
It's time for Cottage Floral Thursday and Fertilizer Friday.
I'm also joining  Macro Friday with the last photo.

Take time to enjoy the garden today, you won't be disappointed.

  1. Our cone flowers have not long started flowering and would do better for a bit of sun. They are very architectural flowers and photograph so well (helped by your expertise as a photographer).

  3. Beautiful photos! My coneflowers are just starting to open up (a little more sun would help!) but something is nibbling on them. Have a great weekend. I think we're getting some sunshine for 3 days!

  7. My macro photos always turn out most blurred. Need a better camera than a point and shoot, I guess. Beautiful.

  8. I have no coneflowers, but think I might need some next year. And what a great reminder to spend some time enjoying the garden. I was out in mine this evening - watering and pulling a few weeds. It's a peaceful place.
