Lunch, Tea and a Good Book

We all need to take time away from the busy day for lunch, tea and a good book.

I love to read and the tea shop mysteries by Laura Childs are one of my favourites.  By reading the series you get acquainted with the main characters and the lovely tea shop they run.  There is always a mystery to solve and in between there is talk of wonderful teas, delicious lunches and decadent desserts  Each book usually includes some recipes as well.
I enjoyed the last couple of chapters with a cup of green tea in one of my favourite teacups along with a tuna and lettuce sandwich and some fresh picked cherry tomatoes from my pot garden.

This is a delicate cup with a lovely arrangement of flowers on the saucer and inside the cup.   The outside of the cup is white with a simple gold line close to the middle and around the outer edge and bottom edge.   It is marked Collingwoods Est 1796, Bone China, England on the bottom.

It's time for tea at Teatime Tuesday, Teapot and Tea Things Tuesday, Tuesday Tea for Two, and Tea Cup Tuesday

Do you have a favourite book to read with a cup of tea?
Take time to enjoy tea in the garden today.

PS - this is my first post from my new iMac computer using Pixelmater to edit and add text to my photos.

  1. Lovely post. I think your tea looks fab. The book is one I have not heard of, but I will check it out. Your tea cup is very beautiful. I think the simple white background make the flowers all the more stunning. Is it a Paragon maybe?

  2. Now I'm inspired to take time to relax over lunch rather than gulp it down while watching the news! Lovely pictures. Thank you for your post.

  4. Can't beat a cup of tea and a good book. I really enjoy this series ... probably the information about tea more than the actually mystery! I really like the flowers on your tea cup. Happy Tea Day!

  12. Nice to hear that some of you enjoy the same books as me.

Yes, I am loving my Mac, and wish I had done it a lot sooner instead of contemplating it so much. Just a couple of things I don't like (or haven't figured out yet) ... all the ads on some sites, I used Firefox before and it eliminated them, and I can't print just a highlighted section on a site which was how I got lots of my patterns.

  13. I enjoy reading mysteries as well and have read a couple by this author. As for computers, I needed to replace mine and am happily getting used to my new one (not a Mac, however, so I'm not much use at helping solve the concerns you mentioned -someone is bound to be able to help).

  14. I actually figured out those things, LIttle Home and Garden. It is amazing what Google can help you with. Like the ads say ... There is an app for that (or similar words). Those apps can solve just about everything.
