He loved the small models set up inside and his favourite plane was one that he could climb into and pretend to fly. I'm sure the grandchildren did not understand the true significance of the museum but we will take them there again when they are older. Naturally there was a trip to the gift store so they could both have an airplane souvenier to take home to play with.
It was a wonderful sunny day and there are lots of shadows of the planes so I'm joining in with Shadow Shot Sunday. I'm sharing just a few of the photos with Mosaic Monday.

What a fun day for the kids. My Dad loves to see the planes in Trenton himself. V
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great day out with the grandkids in Trenton. We visited the war museum in Ottawa a few years back and love how its steeped with our history and the roles we played in all the worlds. Sweet pics. Diane
ReplyDeleteWe were at the Ottawa museum several years ago as well Diane. We live quite close to CFB Trenton and can see and hear some of the planes going overhead.
ReplyDeleteHI Val, the kids had a great time and so did their Grandad.
I love how you arranged your beautiful pictures.

We love to see planes. Looks like a great place to visit, and a perfect place to entertain children.
ReplyDeleteA great educational trip for the grandchildren Linda. I'm sure ours would like it there too, I know my husband would.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great day for the grands to enjoy being with you. Grandparents always know the good places!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures...I love the way you arranged them into a mosaic!
ReplyDeleteI bet the kids liked the planes. Kids and planes go hand in hand. They just marvel at them. The air show is big with kids here. It had to be a fun day for you with their enthusiasm.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to visit the museum one day. Most of my life, from aged 2 through over 40, was spent on Air Force bases. I've flown out of Trenton more times than I can recall.
ReplyDeleteVery nice post.
ReplyDeleteRegards!
Sounds like a wonderful, fun day with the grandkids. Running and playing is good for all of us!
ReplyDeleteThat must have been very exciting for them! Nothing better than seeing their happy faces and all the look at this and looks at that squeals!

ReplyDeleteSING A SONG OF SHADOWS
Sing a song of shadows
Taller than a tree!
Sing a song of shadows
Wider than the sea!
Sing a song of shadows
Dancing in the sun!
Sing a song of shadows—
Day is almost done!
