The heliopsis are very hardy and seem to survive just about anything from lack of rain to extreme heat.

I love taking macro photos of the various stages of the blooms opening. Heliopsis or false sunflower grows in tall clumps of long blooming flowers.
I"m blog hopping with Cottage Floral Thursday and Fertilizer Friday. Won't you join in?
I'm hoping that if you are in this extreme heat you can find a place to stay cool.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for the kind comment. I read your mention of Cottage Flora Thursday, above, and just decided to join in today! Your collage is terrific; I love seeing the various stages of blooms as well, not just the final flower.
ReplyDeleteI like you like to take photos of flowers in all stages of their life from the bud to the seedhead. The yellow is so happy. It is hot today but I have my Hort newsletter to put together for next week so that is keeping me busy today. Keep cool. V
ReplyDeleteHi Crafty Gardener, I am the Creative Gardener... sounds like we like similar things! I came by from Fishtail Cottage and will do some exploring, I like your photos of the blooming stages, you must be very patient. Happy Gardening ~ Jacque
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the heliopsis. I always had major aphid issues with them in the past so pulled them out. Maybe it was the variety. How are yours?
Judith
Beautiful photos of heliopsis; one of my favourite plants in the garden. Grows beautifully, and never complains. I love it!
ReplyDeleteStay cool in this dreadful heat!
What a beautiful collage of your heliopsis! I can't believe how hot it's been in Ont. and even here in NB. We did get a lot of rain this afternoon but it was like a steam bath outside afterwards. Stay cool! Pamela
ReplyDeleteToday in Niagara it hit 95° F. The heat index was higher and with the humidity, it was unbearable. The flowers forged on surprisingly. Your progression of bloom is wonderful, but capture them in decline too. They make interesting shots in form and color.
ReplyDeleteVery cool pics.

Your collage is lovely...stay cool, if possible! It is slightly cooler here today...what a relief!
ReplyDeletethis is a super cool post!!! I love the progression
ReplyDeleteI thank you so much for linking in this week. It is an honor to host Friday's Flaunt and meet new friends and visit the regulars (who are like old friends) who share. I am always excited to tour each post and see the different flowers/ projects and garden art that everyone flaunts. It is a pleasure to tour and see all the gorgeous blooms...and I appreciate each and every link and comment! I hope you will link in again soon!

Now that is hot! Even for someone who lives in the tropics of northern Oz, like me. We don't get temps that high here on the coastline very often, but inland these tempertures would be almost a daily event during their summers.
ReplyDeleteFabulous mosaic. Great shots showing the different stages of flowering.
I cannot even begin to imagine a temperature that high we don't get anywhere near that here in England .26F and we are wilting!
ReplyDeleteI do take photos of the blooms doing the other way gardenwalkgardentalk ... perhaps I'll post them next.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this fabulous mosiac of this sunflower blooming over here at Cottage Flora Thursdays this week! Very clever & fun to see the stages! xoxo, tracie
