Feeding the Young

What a treat to look out the window a couple of days ago and see a young male cardinal and its dad.

The dad was feeding the young one seeds from under the feeder.

These aren't some of my better photos.

But I just grabbed the camera quick and took them through the window,

as I didn't want to risk opening the door and scaring them away.
I couldn't wait to share these lens friends with you.

I hope you have some time to blog hop over to Camera Critters and see lots of other great photos that bloggers are sharing of lens friends this week.

Take time to enjoy the garden today.

  5. Crafty Gardener, I finally got around to follow up your message on Blotanical and visit your blog! You are writing a very nice one, I enjoyed reading through the last couple of posts. The red cardinal looks amazing. We don't have these birds here in Southern California, but we have humming birds to make up for that :-)!

  17. Lovely shots of the cardinal birds, Linda. I have a fridge magnet from Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia USA which has pne of these birds on it. I'm just sorry I never saw any on my trip. The adult is the most amazing colour.

  18. Hi Linda - great shots - everytime I go to get my camera, the birds are gone. But my feeder is only 10' outside my kitchen window, so I get to enjoy the birds on a daily basis anyways. Have some cardinals, blue jays and wrens, just waiting for the goldfinches to discover my new feeders.

  19. Wonderful photos. I've never had the great joy of seeing a cardinal live. I wonder if we have them in BC?
