The Wild Side

On our walk down by the bay at the end of last week I took many photos of the little wild flowers that were in bloom.  I'm always showing you the ducks, swans and other water birds but today the gardener side has taken over.

There were pretty pinks, yellows and mauves. We might curse some of these wildflowers when they appear in our gardens ... like vetch and bindweed. But growing in the wild we tend to appreciate their colour, how delicate they are, and how pretty they look.

So for Mosaic Monday I've put together a collection of wildflowers to share with you.

I'm also joining  Clay and Limestone for Wildflower Wednesday on the fourth Wednesday of each month.  Why don't you join and share some of the native/wildflowers that bloom in your area.

May all your weeds be wildflowers.

  3. I guess we have to remember that the hybrids we enjoy in our garden came from the wildflowers we see in the fields and streams. Beautiful mosaic Linda. Your leg must be healed. V

  4. I agree Linda, they are never welcome in the garden. But so beautiful outside our fence line. Maybe we should change our minds about some, they are beautiful. Enjoy the week.

  6. Very pretty. I think I like bindweed best as a photo. :) When I was little I picked some vetch that had some grey bugs on it (probably aphids) and my big brother told me that the little purple flowers turned INTO bugs. I believed him. Thus am I traumatized whenever I see this pretty little thing! lol

  9. Such delicate beauty in most wild flowers when we take the time to look.

Do hope you recover fast from your knee surgery Linda. Not the best for a gardener though I am sure you will appreciate it in the long run.

    Take care.

  15. Hi Linda
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that will decide if the plant is weed or wildflower.
