Rainy Day Visitors

The rain continues in my part of Ontario.  But that doesn't stop the birds coming to the feeders.  These lens friends images were captured though the back door.

The ruby throated hummingbird approaches the feeder.

The Northern Oriole perches on the oriole feeder.
Even though it is dull outside these lens friends brighten up the day.  Other birds at the feeders are the bluejays, the white crowned sparrows, woodpeckers, goldfinches and the cardinals.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you are enjoying your day.

  1. Love your pictures! You're very talented. Weather is the same around here in Jersey, right now I have a Goldfinch at one of the feeders, he just showed up yesterday for the first time. My other regulars: red bellied wood pecker, chickadees, titmouse, downy woodpecker etc

  5. I haven't seen the hummingbirds here yet but at least your post has jogged my memory to get my feeder out. Good photos.

  6. We haven't had any hummingbirds this year and I don't think I've ever had the pleasure of seeing an Oriel in person. Great photos!

  7. It sure has been a slow start to spring here in southern Ontario this year! Even so, this is the earliest I have ever seen the Hummers here. There isn't a lot for them to eat yet so I make sure the feeders are full for the little guys. Maybe this is the year they will let me photograph them ... those little buggers are QUICK!

  8. Hi Linda, Our hummies have also arrived and with the cold, rainy weather fights at the feeders are the norm. But they so fun to watch.

  9. Hi Linda, you've captured a great pic of the hummingbird! My neighbor keeps her hummingbird feeder full all winter and has attracted a few Rufus hummers to stick around all year. It was crazy to watch them visiting the feeders with snow falling this winter. Cheers, Jenni

  10. Really great captures. I find hummer so difficult to photograph...they move so quickly and are rather skittish.

  11. I love the oriole, since we don't have those here. Such a pretty, colorful bird.

  12. Great close ups!
We are having a bit of rain here too and it has been a little on the chilly side at times.

    Have a super Friday!
