Meet Jack and the Mrs.

I know you have all heard of Jack Sparrow.  But did you know he lives at our house? In fact he's lived here for years raising his families.

Yes, I say families, as this Jack Sparrow is none other than the house sparrow that occupies the front birdhouse.  I nicknamed him Jack as that seemed to be very appropriate.  This house is visible from the living room window and I can sit and relax in the armchair and watch Jack and the Mrs. busily flitting in and out of the house.

The Mrs. is busy right now gathering food for the little ones that are living inside. I can hear them chirping.  I'm hoping that any day soon I'll see their little heads popping out of the birdhouse. They will make the perfect little lens friends to share in another post.

We don't charge Jack and the Mrs. any rent because the enjoyment of watching their families is payment enough.  Be sure to see some more Cheep Rooms?

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day.

  1. Awww...so sweet. It's so much fun having a feathered family nearby.

We have Mr. & Mrs. Robin raising their young in a nest near our roof. This is the second year a robin family has built a nest in the same location. I love it! Can't wait to see the babies.

  2. I love watching the birds to. This year, besides our usual pair of house wrens, we have pair of barnswallows making a nest above the one of the shutters from our bedroom window. They are such a "chatty" pair. The wrens though, made this year's nest IN a helmet, IN the shed. Had to move it to the rafters so the cat can't get to them. All is well except that now we have mommas & pappas thinking they own everything around here!LOL

  4. We have this old electrical pole. Our neighbors got up on top and added a bird house. I just hope something as cute as this occupies it soon.

  5. Love it! They are so cute. Hope you get lots of pictures of the little ones when they poke their heads out. I have two birdhouses here, but no sign of renters. I'm bummed.

  6. haha - We have sparrows that come nest on our porch every year. They probably feel neglected - they are 'home' less, with only a nest to call their own! :) They also don't have a name. You are putting me to shame!

  8. Just testing to see if posting comments goes through. Some visitors have said they can't comment. I do believe it is a Blogger glitch.
