
I thought this was a common merganser approaching the water. But looking closer at my identification books I don't really think it is. Thanks to Garry at Birding and more I have now identified this as a male bufflehead.

What a gorgeous pair of mute swans.

Then there was the honking Canada goose.

ReplyDeleteBirds in flight are so hard to capture, but you have done a fantastic job. I especially love the swans in flight. When you look at them you wonder how they can hold up that long, long neck. But the sound of their beating wings is always something I look forward to.
