In Anticipation

I'm waiting in anticipation.
The ruby throated hummingbirds are beginning to be spotted in our area.  If you check out this map, you will see if they are near you yet.

I've cleaned out the feeder and filled it with freshly made food.  Last year I spotted the hummer on April 19, but it is a little cooler than last year, but I'm hoping to capture one through my lens soon.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day.

  1. Your so lucky! We don't have hummingbirds in this country. The closest we get to a hummingbird is something called a hummingbird moth which I have see on the downs near us. I look forward to seeing your photos!

  2. Hi DD, we've had a hummingbird moth in the garden too. I have a photo of it here, http://craftygardener.blogspot.com/2007/07/clear-wing-hummingbird-moth.html Thanks for stopping by.

  3. We rarely get to enjoy hummingbirds. I faithfully put out my food though just in case. I figure at least the bees get it if the hummingbirds do not.

  4. Yes, I have been thinking the same way. A bit cool, but the calendar says they should arrive soon. I will be putting up my feeders this weekend.

  5. I can't wait to see these sweet little birds. I should get my feeder ready, too.

  6. Thanks for sharing the map on hummingbird sightings! I was just thinking about them the other day, wondering when to put out our feeders.
