Seedy Saturdays

It's always a wonderful thing to walk into a store and see the seed racks out, especially when there are huge piles of snow everywhere. It's heavenly to browse through all the packets, pick them up and look at all the wonderful pictures of what those little seeds will turn into.  Of course you will be tempted to buy a packet or two or maybe more.

Seedy Saturdays are beginning to happen across the country. Have a look and see if you can find one in your area. These days are a chance to purchase seeds, exchange seeds, and get gardening advice.
I'm encouraged to get out my seed storage basket and see what I might need for this year.  It is still way to early to start the seeds for my area, but it is time to start making lists and plans because spring will be here before we know it.

How about you ... are you planning to go out and buy some seeds? or order some seeds? If you attend a Seedy Saturday I'd really be interested in hearing about your experience.

  1. Seedy Saturdays sound great! I'd never heard of that before. I've bought some celeriac and outdoor cuke seeds so far, hopefully all my other seeds are still viable from previous years, if not then I'll buy more later. Looking forward to planting time again! :) x

  2. I'll have to remember to run over on Seedy Saturday and check it out. In the meantime I have been mind planning my seed selection. Wanting more Autumn colour and so the planning has begun.

  3. I have not been to a Seedy Saturday in many years, maybe this the year to revisit one. Thanks for the reminder.
