The male and female cardinal were under the back feeder snacking on the black oil sunflower seeds that fall to the ground.

The wind is rearranging his feathers.

These aren't the best photos I've taken of the cardinal but it was too windy for me to step out onto the deck so I took the photos through the window. The brightness of the sun was not helping me in taking these photos.

I so envy you the colorful cardinals. Never having seen one in real life, I wonder what it would be like to see that brilliant flash of red in the branches.
ReplyDeleteOne day.

His top knot is all wind blown......
ReplyDeleteIt sure has been windy today. Lucky you to have the cardinals at your feeder!
ReplyDeletegreat photos!
ReplyDeleteI feel so sad for our birds and squirrels at this time of year, but I guess they know how to survive the winter. I love your spring countdown - it gives us hope.
ReplyDeleteLovely little beauties of the garden.
ReplyDeleteBut that's so cute -- his wind blown top feathers -- he looks like he has a mohawk on a bad hair day :-)
ReplyDeleteI have birds for the Camera Critters meme also this week :-)

I'll swap a dozen or so buntings for one of your cardinals! :-) Lovely to see them, wherever they are.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteKinda like having a bad hair day?
Blowing snow here today but milder tomorrow finally.

LOL - such adorable pictures!
ReplyDeleteI do not envy your wind. It looks as if the Cardinal should have used more Dippity-Do.
ReplyDeleteSo so beautiful. One of my favorite birds. Isn't he gorgeous. And I must say, you feed 'em well.
ReplyDeleteOh I love these shots of the Cardinal with his 'hair' (feathers) all blown about! :D Just adorable.
ReplyDeleteIn the winter I take many 'through the glass' bird shots. Both are having a bad hair for sure. Great shots!!
