Chili is a great meal on a cold day. I use about half a kilo (1 pound) of extra lean ground beef, a large can of chopped tomatoes, a large can of red kidney beans, and a small can of tomato paste plus a couple of spoonfuls of chili seasoning. Sometimes I add some sweet onion but today I didn't have any in the fridge.

It attaches to the side of the pot and you rest your spoon or utensil on it. It saves having a small bowl or a spoon rest container on the counter. And any drips go right back into the pot. I bought this one from one of my favourite stores, Taste of Country, at Christmas time. My friend and I were shopping for cooking gadgets for a co-worker and I saw this one and just had to have one of these for myself. It's always nice to treat yourself when you are out shopping isn't it?

Your chili looks really tasty Linda and that gadget is GREAT !! I am going to be on the look out for it too now : )
ReplyDeleteYes .. the sun was so nice in the morning but now we are back to those gray days with some flurries predicted .. all I can say is that this snow fall is good for the ground water levels ?? LOL

Hi Linda
ReplyDeleteYour chili looks yummy and it does hit the spot on a cold and snowy day.
The new gadget looks pretty cool - check out my sidebar for a link to the 'Favourite Kitchen Gadget' party Lynne from Happier than a Pig in Mud is hosting on Feb. 14.

Hi Joy, hang in there spring is just around the long corner.
ReplyDeleteJudith, you find the neatest things on different blogs. I'm off to check out the kitchen gadgets.
This reminds me that my daughter has been asking me (over and over again) to make chili, which she loves. Your recipe sounds wonderful - and so easy! Win-win. And I love that little gadget on your pot. Gotta get me one of those!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to treat yourself while shopping and it does look like a handy gadget. The chili looks good also.
ReplyDeleteLove the spoon rest for the side of the pot, no mess. We also received snow last in half a foot in about an hours time, looked so pretty on the trees.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love that kitchen gadget to hold your spoon. What an awesome idea! I have to get one!
ReplyDeleteI like chili but like your kitchen gadget more. I'm going to have to get me one of those.
