Remembrance

November 11th is the time for Remembrance.
On this day we remember the men and women who served and continue to serve our country during war and during peace keeping missions.
This cenotaph is in Confederation Square in Ottawa and it is a tribute to all those men and women.

We visited Ottawa on a lovely sunny day in June 2010 and through my lens I captured some photos of this beautiful monument including a couple of shadows.
Ottawa is also home to the Canadian War Museum.

Wear your poppy proudly on November 11.

  5. Hello Linda ... those are great shots.
It is a hard day, actually the whole month .. to get through for us. Husband being a Gulf War vet has deeply sad memories .. we wear our poppies and remember much.

  6. Great post Linda. I keep losing my poppy. Need a better way to hold them on.

  7. Valerie, I use a small Canada flag pin to put in the center of my poppy, the kind that has the back that fits on it. That solves the problem of the poppy always falling off.
