It was mid afternoon on Thursday and we were under severe thunder storm warning.
I started taking photos of the sky as the clouds approached.
The system was actually a bit to the north of us and I'm sure that area got the storm worse than we did.
But it did get darker and the winds really got stronger.
The clouds rapidly moved across the sky.
And then we got a few crashes of thunder and a few flashes of lightening.
Then the rain came down steadily for a few minutes. And as quickly as the storm approached it left our area.

Some storms are like that, they come & go like saying "hi" for a few minutes. Love the transition of the photos when the storm was coming in. Nicely shot & documented. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteNot sure if we had the storm first or if you passed it on to us.
My poor trees were touching their toes with the high winds.
Not a real lot of rain here either.
The cloud photos you took make me think of 'something wicked this way comes' :-)
Judith
love the series of photos. dramatic skies.
ReplyDeleteWe had the same clouds but not a drop. Oh my certainly need it here very dry.
ReplyDeleteHi Shey, thanks for stopping by today. Yes, those sorts of storms do pass by quickly.
ReplyDeleteHi Judith, you probably had the storm first as you are to the west of me, and the systems move from west to east. Too bad you didn't get much rain out of it, at least we got a little bit.
Hi Luna, thanks for visiting and commenting.
Hi Rosemary, maybe you will get some rain in the next system that passes through.
We had a pretty great storm here, too. My husband and I love thunderstorms (when we aren't at work and can actually enjoy them) and neither of our canine babies is bothered by them, which is great...
ReplyDeleteNice set of photos, thanks for sharing :)
The storm came quickly, that's for sure. But it didn't last long here. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the series of photos! Somehow, they make the storm more real than any single photo could!
ReplyDeleteYou can send us a bit of your rain, but you can keep the lightening. We already have too many fires going here in BC. Nice storm shots. - Margy
