Singing for my Dinner

The robin has made a nest on the front light over the garage. A couple of years ago they had chosen the same spot.
I recently captured some photos through my lens of the baby singing for its dinner.

At first I thought there was just one baby.

But then up popped another little head.

I could see Mother Robin on the garage roof, waiting to bring in some food.  I stood very still beside the van for several minutes before she felt comfortable enough to return to the nest with a juicy worm.

  1. Excellent capture. Sitting birds can be so jittery they are often hard to photograph.

  9. How cool that they returned to build a nest in the same spot. We had birds build a nest in our gutter on the roof, and two of the little babies jumped off the roof. :( One survived the other did not. I hope they find a better spot in the yard next year to build nests.

  11. Demanding little babies....I think they have little sense of danger. They just know their tummies are hungry and want mommy to do her thing. Lovely photos.
