Yesterday I used a gift certificate to purchase a new pattern book titled Take Along Knitting. It has 20 projects that are easy to do, don't require lots of yarn or needles and can easily be slipped into a bag and taken out with you.
I chose a scarf pattern, Lacy Accent Scarf, and decided to use the yarn I was lucky enough to win from the NicolaKnits blog. I just have a few rows completed on this project. The pattern is just two rows that are easy to remember so I don't have to take the book along with me.

The other project is a pair of fingerless gloves. Last fall I made a pair from the same pattern in a brown colour. I'm using sock yarn in blues as it is very soft and just the right weight for these gloves.

Crafty ; Love the scarf pattern and what pretty yarn... Do you wear the fingerless mitts yourself? Wondered how you like them.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to put the camera strap online. I could maybe accomplish that.
ReplyDeleteHi Rosemary, yes I do wear the fingerless gloves and I love them. I work with children so when I'm outside it is always handy to have fingers free to do up zips and tie shoes.
ReplyDeleteI've got one pattern for a camera strap online and I will be putting up the second one soon. Thanks for asking Valerie.
ooooh, fingerless gloves! Nice!
ReplyDeleteI'll watch with interest to see how the Pegasus scarf comes out.
ReplyDeleteNicola
Hi Nicola, the scarf is working up really nice. I spent some time knitting this morning while waiting to go out and hope to get more done tonight. Thanks again for the yarn.
ReplyDeleteBoth projects look ike fun. Someday I'll pick up my knitting again and to crochet well--that's a lost cause.
ReplyDeleteHave fun.
