My blog, like life, is a mixture of all sorts of things . . . gardening, nature, crafts and photography. Right now it's the time of year when the focus is more on the non-gardening things I love to do. But I'm always thinking and dreaming of gardening.

A Stroll After the Rain

We had some much needed rain overnight.  The gardens and lawn are looking much better already.  I just had to stroll around the garden taking photos of raindrops on leaves and blooms.  Isn't that what we all do after a rain storm?

The roses are still spectacular as the rain was coming on the front of the house and they were sheltered from the rain and wind at the back of the house. The large pot of coleus is beginning to fill in.  It loves the shady spot on the driveway under the lilac bush. The dahlia and canna are poking through the soil with a promise of lovely blooms later in the season.

The Quiet Country House invites you to take a Sunday stroll around your garden too.

Thanks for visiting today. I hope you can take a moment to leave a comment and say hi.

  1. I love the rain, the water drops are so pretty on the flowers. It has been so hot here in my mountain garden, great for the Tomatoes and other veggies. It seems Ladybugs are still all over town, swarming my garden! I took more pics of Ladybugs again but haven't posted them. Lovely garden you have! :)

  8. We had such a dry spring that I am glad to be finally having a few days with rain here in Huttonville.
It is amazing how the plants respond to the renewed energy that rainwater provides.

  11. We've had rain all day here too which was perfect timing given that the plants were gasping. I had planned to water today but woke up to the heavenly sound of rain pounding the leaves and pavements. How fresh and green your garden looks now.
