The photo is slightly blurry as she was hidden away in one of the honeysuckly bushes close by the nesting box and I was taking the photo from the other side of the garden.
This photo shows off her little tail, which is usually sticking striaght up. Remember that birdhouse on the fence I was offering for cheep rent? That's the one she is is busy making the nest in. Wrens can lay 6 to 10 brown speckled eggs. I know when I go back to the composters she certainly tells me off. So I'm really hoping there will be lots of little baby wrens in there.

What a cute little bird Linda ! I haven't seen those here .. but then again there are so many little ones around the garden and they are so quick ! I would love to see the babies too .. I didn't know they laid so many eggs !
ReplyDeleteShe must be adorable with that tail straight up : )

Your little Jenny Wren is cute.
ReplyDeleteWrens are so darling!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely birds I Think, we have a few that come into my garden. They move so quick, you don't see them for long. Julie.C
ReplyDeleteP.S Linda if you have chance pop over and see my pictures of doves who are nesting again in my garden. They have 2 eggs.
Birds do have away of telling people off don't they?
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of her tail.
Melinda
Very cute, Jenny Wren can come and visit my garden. She would be welcome any time.

Lovely photos. We have started seeing wrens here once again too. They can't cope when we have a bad snowy winter like the last one and many die.
ReplyDeleteIn my previous house we had a nest box that the wrens used as a winter roost - we once counted 15 go in it in one night to huddle together for warmth.
Good to know that yours are doing fine as well.

I love that you named her. Jenny Wren - very lyrical.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful she took you up on the cheap Wren-t. :)
Hopefully you'll be able to show us her babies.

I"ve tried to get a photo of Jenny Wren with her tail up, but she moves very quickly Joy.
ReplyDeleteHI Julie, thanks for stopping by. I did go by and see your dove nest and eggs. Hopefully they will hatch safely and you will have some more photos.
Hi Johnson, I'm not sure I would want 15 wrens all chirping at me at the same time. But it certainly would be something to see.
Hi Carletta, I love your play on words for Cheep Wren-t, I'll have to use that in my post with a thanks to you.
I do not get to see them to often.. but hear them. My neighbor has a couple houses in the woods between our houses & some are occupied :) except for the beak & coloring they remind me of phoebes. they flick their tails & I love to watch them, even tho they make a messy mud nest on my house! they eat bugs, so they are welcome!
