'Scent'sational Sunday

I has been quite 'scent'sational around the garden lately as the lilacs are in bloom.

Photobucket

We have lots of wild lilacs in mauve and white that line the side of the house by the garage.  It is wonderful to walk on the path under the lilacs and inhale the scent.  Yesterday a friend stopped by for a visit and she ended up taking home a large bouquet of lilacs.

I hope you can imagine the 'scent'sation.

The Quiet Country House invites you to take a Sunday stroll around your garden too.

Thanks for visiting today. I hope you can take a moment to leave a comment and say hi.

  3. I was away most of the week and while I was gone all the lilacs came into bloom, so I know the lovely scent you mention, heavenly. Today they are all covered in snow.

  7. What a fragrant garden you must be having now. Mine are done now and I miss the fragrance drifting around the yard. Your white ones are so pretty.

  8. The lilacs look so beautiful. They do so poorly in heat of the south.

  9. Amazing! I can imagine the full of the yard smelling like lilac. We don't even have buds yet, oh well I get to enjoy them twice.

  11. How beautiful! Lilacs are something I have always loved and have good memories of in my grandmother's garden. I didn't have great success with the ones I planted last year, but the small-leaved ones bloomed just enough to enjoy the scent, briefly. The old-fashioned one didn't bloom at all, and I think I need to relocate it to a sunnier area (but I'm not sure I have one!). I am sure it's heavenly right now with the beauty & blooms...the scent, and the color, are some of my favorites!

  12. I tried to comment on this Sunday, just after I added you to the strolling list... and my connection to the internet died. I'm just getting it back today and have a lot of catching up today.

Like the rest of your readers, I could almost smell these lovely blossoms! Mine are not yet blooming, so I loved the preview of blooms to come.

Thank you for strolling along this week!
