Under the Eaves

This birdhouse is under the eaves at the front of the house and it is always occupied.  It is visible from the living room window and we get many hours of enjoyment watching the sparrows raise their families in this house.

Right now they are busy making the nest nice and cozy.

When the sparrows aren't busy with the nest they have taken to perching on a piece of garden architecture that has recently been relocated to the garden in front of the window.
They were used to have a big shrub there but it had to be removed last year as it had reached its "sell by date"!  Actually it was starting to die out in the middle and beginning to look quite unsightly.

Why don't you stop by for a visit to Cheep Rooms and maybe be tempted to join in sharing photos of birdhouses.

Thanks for taking time to visit today. I hope you have time to leave a comment and say hi.

  1. The birdhouse is looking nice and cozy for a new season of babies.

You know I love the wrought iron compass. I love the curves and airspace it provides as a garden piece.

  3. Love the photos, Linda!

How wonderful to be able to watch those little guys raise their families. We had robins nest on top of one of our porch columns a couple of years ago, right under the roof. I didn't even want to walk out the front door for fear of disturbing them!
    Thanks for sharing :)

  6. I was tempted to show the box that has sparrow babies in it now. They know exactly when you are near and they keep quiet. You have a great vantage point.
