Those Little Pot Feet

A week or so ago I was rumaging through a flea market close to home and I discovered these adorable little birds.

As I'm picking them up and looking at them the vendor tells me he has no idea what they are for but it was my lucky day and he was clearing them out for half price.
On closer examination I saw the little flat pieces at the back and I thought to myself ... hm-m-m little pot feet.  At that time another browser said they were for holding a hot casserole.  Holding on tightly to the little birds (I think the other person was hoping to get them) I agreed but said I would use them to raise one of my flower pots off the ground.
It was such a gorgeous day today I just had to get outside and try them out.
Are you wondering what the price was?  well, the set of three set me back fifty cents.  I would of willing paid the full price of one dollar.  As Alison commented, weren't they cheep?

Now I can't wait to get some plants to put into the pot.  I did see the pansies are out so I just might have to stop by my favourite garden store and purchase some.

The temperature must of reached about 23 Celsius today.  I spent the time filling the wheelbarrow with old leaves and twigs from the garden, getting out some of my garden decorations, setting up the birdbath, and of course some time relaxing in the garden chair just soaking up the sun.

  1. Hi Linda - what a great idea. They look right at home holding up the pot. I would have paid a buck for each of them - you got a real deal. Enjoy the weather!!!

  2. Linda you were too lucky with this find. What a bargain and how cute! Just checked out your gazing balls, looking for your stepping stones(didn't find them). I like the balls and I've been planning doing much the same but with mirror bits. Then I found your teapots! You and I are going to enjoy each others blogs for sure!

  3. What a deal! They are adorable and I have paid much more than that for ones that are only half as cute!

  4. I would of paid a $1 each also Heather, and would love to find some more just like them.

Mirror bits would be lovely on the mini gazing balls Helen. I did recently pick up some little mirror bits at the Dollar stores so will have to include them in the next one I do.

They are adorable aren't they Sheila, I'll be on the lookout for more once garage saling season comes around.

    Thanks for visiting everyone.

  5. Oh, I am jealous, jealous, jealous! I love your cute little birdie pot feet, I think you are right that is exactly what they were for. Lucky you, getting them so "cheep!"

  6. Hi Alison, can't believe I didn't pick up on the 'cheep' price, I'm always finding ways to play on words.

  8. Hi Linda
Great find for the pot feet and so cute too. Surely the other lady was kidding about them holding a casserole dish? She's obviously not a gardener. :-)
Isn't it amazing to see everything so far ahead this year? I hope we're not going to have any surprises with spring being so lovely.
    Have a Happy Easter.

  10. Those really are great pot feet. Why is it that when you find an awesome perfect something at a "cheep-cheep" price, you can't buy a whole bunch of them? At least you got 3!

  11. Love the pot feet, Linda. You know what? In the Valley, a few miles away, it was sunny and very warm today, in the low 20s/high 60s. Here in my yard, the fog refused to leave, the wind was blowing southwest and blowing more fog in, and it was too chilly for me to work outside! How irksome is that? I gave up after about an hour. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Happy Easter, or happy spring, whichever you celebrate.

  14. Hi Picket Fence, I sure do wish I could find more like them. I'll keep looking.

Jodi, what a shame that the fog didn't lift for you. Perhaps our lovely weather from today will head your way tomorrow.

Frogs would be adorable pot feet too. I'll keep my eyes open for some of those.

It was a gorgeous day out and it was wonderful to be outside enjoying the garden.

  16. What a great find. I'm glad you found some time to enjoy the sunshine - as gardeners we sometimes focus too much on our projects and forget to relax and enjoy.
