Linda if it was such a big clump I would have said butterfly weed .. but this is BIG .. fluffy seeds from something for sure !

A plant sneezing was my very first thought and then a wonder if plants can react to allergens and maybe people give off perfume allergens.

That looks like the fluff inside the heads of bulrushes. I love taking them apart and seeing how much there is packed in there.
ReplyDeleteSeeing the snowbells in your header reminded me I saw some in a neighbour's garden yesterday - very lovely!
Stab in the dark...cat tail? My first thought was the thorn in my side oleander seed, but I think it's because the oleander has traumatized me! :)

ReplyDeleteI'd also say a cattail / bulrush. That fluffy stuff is amazing, it is almost as soft as down.
