The Lambs Go Skipping Out
The lambs came March-ing in at the beginning of the month and the lambs are skipping out at the end of the month. We had a couple of days towards the end of the month that were considered lion days ... with some wet snow, a bit of wind and some rain. But overall it was a lamb month.
The skies on the last few days have been beautiful ... from clear blue during the day, to gorgeous sunsets at night and there was even a full moon. The temperature has been rising well up into the double digits. Did you know the full moon in March is sometimes called the Worm Moon? The days are getting longer and warmer, hence the ground is warming up, and the worms start to wake up and poke out of the ground. The worms leave little piles of castings and these help prepare the ground for new growth . The birds, especially the robins like to peck the ground for worms too.Nature never ceases to amaze me. ©Crafty Gardener
Thanks for taking time to visit today. I hope you have time to say hi and leave a comment.
Linda, interesting about the full moon in March. First I thought ewwww but then, it makes sense. I am glad March is out of here!!! Onward to spring.
ReplyDeleteDid not know about the Worm Moon, that was interesting. Lovely shots of the skies.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda - the moon has certainly been beautiful this week illuminating our backyard and casting long shadows in the middle of the night. You certainly captured it beautifully.
ReplyDeleteInteresting information.
ReplyDeleteI'd say that the month of March here in Kansas left as a lamb-the way it came in.
We had a bit of wind but not really enough to be considered a lion.

I'm glad that we're out of FARCH. It was getting very tiresome, especially those last few days. Lambs are a good thing. Happy April.
ReplyDeleteYour sky collage is magical. We have seen new-born lambs in the fields this week.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, great info about the 'Worm
ReplyDeleteMoon'! I'm glad March was a lamb month for you, too...and I certainly hope you won't have the lion visit you in April;-) Have a wonderful spring...finally, it's really here! That makes all of us gardeners very happy indeed!
