The Glorious Sounds of Spring

Yesterday that glorious sound of spring was in the air.  It was the sound of the large flocks of Canada Geese flying overhead and honking as they head to the north to the lakes.
The sound compels me to stop what I am doing, rush outside (with camera in hand) and look towards the sky.
It always takes a moment to focus on the sound and then the sight. The flight path seems to go right over the house.
Yesterday was the perfect spring day, with lovely warm temperatures and clear blue skies.
Please don't let winter have its last hurrah!

  1. The return of our Canada geese is one of my favourite things this time of year. I love the way they honk so loudly, letting us know they're back. If you translated what they were saying, it would be: "We're home! We're home!"

  3. LOL Gotta love the honking geese. They haven't arrived here yet. Early in the mornings when I let the dogs out I hear woodpeckers all over the place. And the robins have finally arrived, busy tossing around leaves looking for tasty tidbits.

  4. Hi Linda
I see you too did a blog remake - like your new look!
I've seen a few flocks of geese overhead here too and male birds starting to establish their territory.
Finally, spring in a few days!

  5. The sounds of spring and the warm weather are so wonderful after the winter blahs. Have seen red-wing blackbirds and robins in the last couple of days. Hope the cold forecast for the weekend does not arrive. Like the new layout for the blog.
