With the gorgeous days we have been having there is lots of activity at the various birdhouses around the garden. This one is visible from the dining room window and was the first birdhouse we put up. It certainly needs a coat of paint but we just never get around to doing it. Guess that is why we rent it out for cheep rent.
The sparrows have been very busy constructing their new nest. And just look at the various items they have found. My eye was drawn to the bit of colour and I'm wondering if it is some of my tiny scraps of yarn and embroidery floss that I toss out at this time of the year. I sure would like to think that I've contributed something to the making of the nest. I'll be looking forward to capturing some photos of the babies in a few weeks.
I came across this fairly new blog called Cheep Rooms, which is a place to share all the birdhouses you spot. Why don't you stop by for a visit and maybe be tempted to join in sharing photos of birdhouses. ©Crafty Gardener
Thanks for taking time to visit today. I hope you have time to say hi and leave a comment.
Oh, how cute... Can't wait to see photos of the babies. This is my favourite time of year; it's a celebration of new life!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that nest.. Good picture..I will go to the cheep rooms and look, I love bird houses too.

cute house...
ReplyDeleteI am always taking photos of birdhouses so I'll make a note on my pad here to stop by. I have not done too much blog reading lately so today is my catch up day!
ReplyDeleteHow delightful to spot the little bits of colored yard as the sparrows get their nest ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteYou have to keep the expenses down for cheep rent that is for sure.
I love the weathered look of this birdhouse.
ReplyDeleteIt's so neat to see different colored yarns in a bird house! I don't knit but now I'm tempted to buy some yarn anyway just to leave it out for the birds. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Linda
ReplyDeleteI like to put bits of yarn, dog hair and pieces of string out in late March for the birds to find. One year they must have taken strips of someone's blue tarp because if stuck out like a sore thumb in a couple of resident nests.
Thank you so much for stopping by and posting on Cheep Rooms - Birdhouse Thursdays! I love the colored yarn you have provided. Like Lavender Cottage I have seen birds take bits of plastic and such to make their nests. This is much nicer and I am certain softer.
ReplyDeleteI have been at awe of your site in the past. Crafty side and Gardening side. I will be by more often that I have been bitten by Spring fever.
I switched from Appfeeteliza to the Blogger account you suggested. I didn't think I could use either of them if I didn't actually keep my blog there. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has started collecting interesting string to hang outside for the birds. And her hair from her hairbrush. :)
It's so wonderful to know that nests are being built already! I'm sure your sparrows did find bits of your yarn and such for their nest...it's amazing the things they spot and use. :)
