When-sday Memories is a series of posts, mostly during the winter, to showcase some of my previous nature posts. When were they previously posted ... way back when.

This When-sday post is from April 19, 2008 and shows some of my better hummingbird photos. I recently saw a fantastic documentary on hummingbirds on the Nature channel and it gave me the inspiration to share this post again. What fascinating birds.

How exciting to have the hummers back in the garden.

I took a series of photos with my Olympus camera on April 19/08. I use a tripod to steady the lens.

The camera has 18x zoom so when the lens is extended it is heavy and my hands wouldn't be able to steady the camera.

These are some of the photos of the hummer which I got by using the rapid fire button.

What did we do without digital cameras?
I'm really looking forward to the hummingbirds returning to the garden. How about you?

Thanks for taking time to visit today. I hope you have time to say hi and leave a comment.

Linda those were great shots .. I have to remember to use "bust" mode too .. there is an anti shake option on that camera so make sure you have it activated for shots like that to help you out : )
ReplyDeleteI am getting cabin fever big time .. I am going out today and I so want to pop into Home Sense !! LOL
Thank you for the friendly welcome on Blotanical. As a new blogger, this gives much needed encouragement.Your pictures are amazing.....I do not even have a camera so am filled with admiration. I do hope that you might visit my blog and I shall certainly return to you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!
Lovely post, Linda. I too can hardly wait for the return of warmer days--even the return of SUNLIGHT for more than a few hours at a time would be a huge start. This seems to be a very very grey winter. The hummingbirds can come join the bee in primrose currently up on my blog. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love to see hummingbirds in the garden. You got lovely reminders of them though.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see some tulips and daffodils poking their way up. It is hard to be patient sometimes isn't it?

They're mean little birds! I get the biggest kick watching them fight. I'm looking sooo forward to having them back! Thanks for sharing - your photos are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your hummingbird pictures. We have a feeder in summer on our deck. They are so fascinating to watch especially when they do there little swing dance before leaving for the winter. Valerie
