Some "Purse"onality

Awhile ago I made this bag made out of granny squares.  It was a quick and easy pattern to make and it pieced together very quickly. You can find the pattern here, it's called Inga's crocheted bag.

I wasn't really happy with it as it stretched out of shape when used (no fault of the pattern, but probably the yarn I used).

I did some adjustments to the pattern and took out the squares that formed the bottom.  I also added a lining to the inside and the straps.

Now I'm really happy with this bag with its own 'purse'onality.

  2. I am going to try these! I am not very crafty, but you always inspire me, Linda. And besides, the ground is frozen and I can't go play in my perennial beds. Happy New Year!

  5. I really like the bag. At least I know how to crochet, and I must say that everything looks and does better lined.
It has been super cold here, they say we may have snow by the weekend which for here in the south would be amazing. Scary too for these southern drivers!!

  7. Good thinking! They would make great gifts. I inherited some kind of polypropylene yarn that my MIL used to make slippers out of (not Phentex, but like that only much thicker, and spun as tough as rope. In nice, neutral shades.

  8. Good idea, the lining. I have some kind of stiffly spun polypropylene yarn that I inherited from my MIL--she used to crochet slippers. That would work well. Thanks for the link.
