Nightshade

I'm thrilled to announce that on April 4, 2008 Susan Wittig Albert will be a guest author on my blog to promote the release of her latest book, Nightshade.

Susan is a nationally-recognized speaker on the history and lore of herbs. In addition to the China Bayles books, Albert writes a historical/fantasy series featuring Beatrix Potter as a sleuth. She and her husband, Bill Albert, have collaborated on a series of Victorian /Edwardian mysteries, under the pen name of Robin Paige. Albert has also written over sixty young adult novels and several non-fiction books.

In Nightshade, ex-lawyer and herbalist China Bayles is faced with one of the most disturbing puzzles she has ever had to solve.

China's herb shop and catering business may be thriving, but she's still reeling from her father's death, and not even remotely interested in her half-brother Miles's investigation into that event. China's husband, on the other hand, has no such qualms. And when fate forces her to get involved as well, China realizes it's time to bring the past to light—or else it will haunt her the rest of her life.

But China and McQuaid discover that Miles may have been keeping as many secrets as he seemed determined to uncover. How deep do the layers of secrecy go? And who has a stake in concealing the truth after sixteen years?

If you love mystery reading with a gardening theme be sure to check back to my blog. You just might win a copy of the book for yourself.

I'm glad you're hosting Susan's book tour on your blog. She lives in the Hill Country outside of Austin and keeps a blog about writing, gardening, and life in general called Lifescapes. She'll be joining us for the Garden Bloggers Spring Fling on April 5th and has generously donated two of her China Bayle's mysteries to the door-prize giveaway.

Have fun with the blogging book tour.

Hi Pam, I so wish I could attend the Spring fling. I'd love to meet Susan and other garden bloggers in person.

Hi brenda - I love growing herbs too. I think I grow them more for the pretty flowers and the wonderful scents than for the actual use.

Hi Crafty - it will be fun to see the blog tour in action! I haven't seen Susan Albert in person, but she's an occasional guest on a local PBS television show called Central Texas Gardener with local legend Tom Spencer. Thanks for visiting!
