Winter Storm for February 1, 2008

February is arriving with a major snow storm in Ontario. Depending on where you live in the province you can get up to 30 cm. of snow, ice, ice rain and ice pellets.
This is the view from the back door early this morning just as the storm was starting. I'll try to get updated photos as the day goes on.

There is very little traffic going by on the road ... and who can blame them for staying inside. Some birds are flitting around looking for food. The flat feeder is rapidly filling in with snow. I'll have to brave the weather later today and go out and brush it off.

The chickadees, juncos, and starlings have found the hanging suet feeders. I can hear the sparrows chirping away but they are hiding inside the big globe cedars for some protection from the snow and wind.

I am content to watch the storm through the windows and I bet you would be too.

Hi Linda

I don't blame you for staying inside, I'm doing the same!! The shop where my daughter works closed at noon. She came to my place to make sure I had everything I needed for the next few days, and now she is snowed in with me for atleast tonight and possibly a good portion of tomorrow!! Stay warm!!

Hi Linda!
We got a lot of snow in Guildwood and right now it is still snowing.
We received about 10" of snow so far. But now there is freezing rain in the forecast for tomorrow.
Will be quite slippery to walk or drive.
Thank you for your visit and comment on my blog,
cheers Gisela
