The mystery flower
Don't you just love a garden mystery?
Here is just a little peek at part of a flower. You solve the garden mystery and tell me what is the name of the flower.

A while ago I did a post about garden mystery books that I love to read. And I included the mystery flower (above) for you all to solve. A few folks guessed it was a lily. It sure does look like a lily but it isn't.So for Green Thumb Sunday I'm posting a little bit more of the flower in hopes someone will identify it.
Another clue is - it doesn't grow in a clump but on a vine and the flower pops right out of the middle of the leaf.

Can you solve my garden mystery plant?
Leave a reply and see if you are right. A full photo with the answer will be posted tomorrow.

Is it one of those banana passion fruit plants???
That´s some sort of honeysuckle 'Lonicera'... but which one somebody else must tell! I love it´s smell but there is some time to go until it will blossom here!
Have a nice GTS

A honeysuckle (Lonicera), I'd say. Which one, though, I don't know. Cool photos!
I have to go with Honeysuckle too.
Is it the lonicera tellmanniana, as I agree with sisah that it could be honeysuckle. I like a graden mystery - I look forward to hearing what it is. Sara from farmingfriends
Enjoyed browsing your blog. And I love the idea of a mystery plant. I have no clue. Will have to check back for the answer. :-)
Looks like Lonicera flava, or Yellow Honeysuckle to me. I always loved the fragrance of this vine.
Happy GTS,
Aiyana
Definitely lonicera, although I don't know the variety.
I'll go for some sort of lonicera too.
MMM...might be Lonicera tellmannia cv Graham Thomas? Or Mandarin....or species L. flava...hard to tell, but whatever the case, vining honeysuckles are wonderful. I have Goldflame, Mandarin and Graham Thomas here, and love them all.
I'd say Lonicera sp. too!
Yup. It's the Honeysuckle. And it's blooming? Mine from last year is still in the process of dying!
Its Lonicera .........I have it in my garden but can't remember which one.
Lovely photos and a fun thing to do.
Will visit again.
It is a Lonicera, but not sure which one. I have a lovely one just outside the front door, still flowering, and had been doing so since October
The green one is lonicera - I've got it myself and the yellow are daylilies?
Well, we are waiting for spring, too. It is still freezing in my part of the woods. Andrea
It is a lonicera - honeysuckle-.
Greetings from Germany, Andrea
