Tour the Gardens

Enjoy a virtual photo tour of our gardens. Photos were taken on July 28, 2007.

The tour starts as you pull up to the front of the house and get ready to pull onto the driveway.

Walking up the driveway and turning left you approach the shady area of the gardens. There are lots of hostas, astillbes and impatience that thrive here. The black eyed susans are in full bloom right now.

When you get to the front door you can turn and look between 2 large globe cedars to see the front garden.

Instead of heading for the front door you turn right and can enter the back gardens by the side path. Before you enter the path be sure to check out all the shade loving plants and the friendly ladybug.

Follow the path down into the garden.

The first thing you see as you turn the corner is the potting bench.

And looking to the right gives you a glimpse of part of the main garden.

Follow the path past the potting bench and look along the stone path through the garden.

Walk to the end of the path and turn around and look back to see the pot garden and the decks.

Turn around again and see the composting garden to the left. The fence hides 3 of the composters.

Look to the right from the end of the stone path and see the honeysuckle bush.

A bridge leads over a marshy area and up to the grapevines.

Don't forget to have lots of comfy chairs and benches in shady areas so you can sit and relax and enjoy the garden.

Just beyond the hammock is the bridge made from recycled wood from an old deck.

It leads over a small run off stream and into the back of the property where we have a large brush pile to shelter birds and other animals.

Turn back towards the house and you can see the trellis garden.

Look back from the trellis garden and have another view of the main garden.

Walk behind the trellis garden and up the other side of the house where you can see the long front garden and a view of the first garden you saw.

I hope you enjoyed your tour of our gardens.

Linda, your garden is so beautiful, but you make me so lonesome for mine. I can't wait till next spring to do a "little" area for some of my plants. Hugs, pat

I am totally enjoying your blog.
For the Tea Cup and Tea Pot planters . . . do you drill a hole in the bottom? How do i do that without busting the ceramic?
Thanks, Becky

Thanks for visiting our gardens everyone.

Becky - I don't drill the teacups or teapots ... never wanted to take the risk of breaking them.

You have a nice big garden with lots of interesting plants and things to admire. You even turned the shady area of your driveway into a riot of colour. Well done!

My roots are in Ontario so I much enjoyed your garden, the step by step view of the immediate sights and the surrounding vistas with the Japanese concept of borrowed landscape. Seating areas. Yes!! Thanks so much.

You have a lovely garden. So different from mine. I'm always up for garden tours! I love your green look, and I have to settle for desert, but I try to make up for it by overplanting!

And you have a potting Bench!!!!! Brilliant! I can't even tell you how happy that makes me, just to see that little addition around your house. That is such a good idea. We have one in the greenhouse and I never thought to ever put one around the house but it makes so much sense if you have a bigger property. :) Beautifulgardens!

Gorgeous gardens!! I stumbled across you sites as you have the same interests as I do and guess what you live just up the 401 from me. Wish I had that much property for gardens. I did make room for my hammock though which I don't think I could live without. Thanks for the tour,
