Welcome

A blog, like life, is a mixture of all sorts of things. You think you are going down one road when all of a sudden you come across a curve and find yourself going off in a totally different direction. My blog covers my interests in gardening and crafting, with some reading and photography added in along the way. Depending on the season or my mood the posts will reflect more of one side of me than the other.

Key Chimes

I love the sound of windchimes in the garden. Perhaps my neighbours don't like all the various sounds I have ... metal ones, bamboo ones, large ones and small ones.

This is one of my favourites made from old cds and old keys.

First glue 2 old cds together, shiny side out. Drill a hole in the top center for adding a loop to hang it with. Drill holes in the bottom to fasten on the old keys. I have 7 holes and have used fishing line to tie the keys on.

You will be surprised at the lovely sound the keys make as they move in the breeze.

Very cute idea. Great gift for a man that love cars. Don't you think ?

Found my way here from Ruth's garden and will really come back for more visits. I love your craft ideas and maybe once in time I will also be able to grow my own thyme.

What a great idea - I have lots of old keys so off to the garden they go!
I saw this on Tricia's site - As The Garden Grows and thought of you. http://feverishthoughts.com/garden/2007/07/11/ever-wonder-what-to-do-with-an-old-shovel/#comment-5397
I think it's a great way to use an old spade or shovel!
